Begining the Action Research Process

1. As a teacher of English Language of students of 7th year of Basic Education at Miguel Riofrio School, I have noticed that students are having problems in learning vocabulary. So they are presenting problems such as, making spelling mistakes, because sometimes they change the order of the words, also having problems of remembering the meaning of the vocabulary, because they can't answer teacher' questions and  also do not understanding vocabulary in context, because they can't follow the instructions in some activities.

 

 

2.  I can realize that students are having significant difficulties in learning vocabulary. In order to investigate my concern, I need to collect information on students’ of vocabulary knowledge and some audiovisual materials used to teach vocabulary. As teacher I have already  knew that the students are having  problems with vocabulary. Athough I can't find the reasos why they present that problem if I have used excellent materials and methods to teach . So I want to find out students’ problems on knowledge of spelling, understanding, remembering.

 

3. I will collect the information of Students’ knowledge of spelling, understanding and remembering. This information will be collect through a test in two times of the academic year. This test will be used to get information about the performance of vocabulary skill that students have.

 

4. To meet my students’ needs, I need to focus my instruction on lesson plans based on audiovisual materials to increase students’ vocabulary in 7th year of Basic Education at Miguel Riofrio School. So they require specifically audiovisual materials designed to target building spelling, understanding and remembering for improving vocabulary using audiovisual materials as an important element to solve the issue mentioned.
